RoundUp:
From the GroundUp

Parks, courts, and green spaces are vital to keeping a community thriving. But all over the country these spaces  have become neglected and home court to something else—weeds. RoundUp is taking back these outdoor spaces with their Community initiative, From the Ground Up.

This is so much more than a park clean up program. We’re working with local artists to breath new life into these blank canvases in a way that encourages creativity, imagination, and communal gathering.

We launched with an animated video announcing the project, followed by our first park cleanup in LA.

We worked with El Centro del Pueblo: a community center with a rundown court in Echo Park in LA. With Resoe, a local street artist, we created a court that resonated culturally with the space.
Then we hosted the opening with food, a DJ, and a 3x3 game.

We created a design system that could encompass all types of open spaces that can be turned into good. The basketball court was just the first step, and with design we can maintain a cohesive approach to each individually designed park.
